Diagnosis: Environmental and Social Quality of the Queima-Pé Basin

After the visits to farmers in the Upper Queima-Pé River Basin, a meeting was held in the Auditorium of the Advanced Training Center (NAC) of Senar MT, located in the Tangará da Serra Exhibition Park. 00During this meeting, several activities were carried out, including the Wailing Wall Workshop, which consisted of listening to participants to report the difficulties they were facing, especially with regard to social, production, economic, health, education, infrastructure aspects, and in relation to the provision of these services by public institutions to the community.
After the participants had expressed their views, groups were organized to discuss the demands raised and record them on a sheet of paper, which was later presented by a person from the paper to everyone present. This record was posted in a specific place. At the end of the meeting, a coffee break was served, prepared with products from family farming.

Objective

The objective of this Western Wall Workshop was to identify the collective problems of the community in the upper part of the Queima-Pé River Basin.

At the event, space was opened for residents of the Upper Part of the Queima Pé Basin to make their demands regarding the problems that exist in this area. To this end, the groups presented the following problems:

Results Achieved

The activity developed with the residents of the Queima Pé Stream Basin had a good participation rate.
During the work carried out with the groups that were formed, it was possible to observe a lot of interest from the participants, especially regarding the use of water resources in the region and the works carried out to preserve the springs, such as contour lines, containment basins, road adaptations and installation of groundwater recharge intensifiers on rural properties, for infiltration of rainwater and discussions involving the identification of the community's problems.
These data collected translated, in summary, a series of problems and aspirations of the community members and will certainly serve to develop a policy of actions aimed at improvements for the near future.

Conclusion

Considering that:
– The presence and participation of residents of the Queima Pé Stream Basin in the Workshop activities was significant and reflected the residents' expectations for solving their problems.
It can be concluded that this part of the project activity was successfully completed.
